Focused Research Group on Multifunctional Materials
The Focus Research Group (FRG) on Multi-functional Materials has been engaged in the development of materials for sustainable buildings and oil and gas structures; Corrosion of Pipelines, Refinery materials, Waxes, Biofuels, materials for borehole stability and oil field chemicals. Others research areas are computational modelling, Non-Destructive testing, Reservoir Engineering and modelling of by-pass oil and gas; Research on wear resistance on metals and ceramic structures. Safe mining practices and efficient processing of mineral resources including urban mining technologies been developed and knowledge diffusion into community knowledge structures are being pursued.
The areas in which the Multi-functional Materials FRG had achieved excellence include:
- Recycling of waste to wealth and infrastructure materials.
- Materials for oil and gas and minerals beneficiation/value addition.
